​When planning your senior photo session, one of the first decisions you’ll make is whether to go with a full or mini session. Not sure which one is right for you? Let’s break it down to help you decide!

What You Need to Know

• Traditional Senior Sessions are Longer
  Full senior photo sessions typically last at least an hour, giving you plenty of time to relax, experiment, and have fun. Mini sessions, on the other hand, are quick and efficient, lasting no more than 20 minutes. These shorter sessions are often grouped together on the same day for multiple clients.

 

• More Time Means More Poses
  If you have a Pinterest board full of posing ideas or you want to try different angles and setups, a full session is the way to go. Mini sessions are fast-paced, so they’re better suited for someone who knows exactly what they want.

 

• Outfit Changes are Limited
  Got a few outfits you’re dying to wear? A full session will let you shine in all of them. Mini sessions are perfect for one stellar outfit but don’t allow for wardrobe changes due to time constraints.

 

• Fewer Photos in Mini Sessions
  A full senior session typically results in 40–60 beautifully captured and retouched images, giving you a variety to choose from. Mini sessions, while still lovely, offer a smaller gallery of 10–20 images, with minimal editing.

 

• Costs Reflect the Time and Options
  Naturally, full sessions cost more because of the extra time and effort they require. Mini sessions are a budget-friendly option for those who want gorgeous photos without all the bells and whistles.

  • You want more photos to choose from and premium editing.
• Go for a Mini Session if:
