Do you hide when a camera is pointed in your direction?

Answered yes did you?! Aaaw! I get it... you say you *always* look terrible in photographs. Am I right? Well, here are a few tips and tricks to help you look your best so you will not feel the need to duck away from a shutterbug.

First things first... Take a selfie right now. Go on... You will understand in a few minutes. Say, "Cheese!".

Now here are your tips for looking your best in photographs:

#1 Chin down
A lot of people tend to pull their chin upward.. like your nose is in the air. Not flattering.

#2 Chin out
When we laugh or smile we have a strange habit of tucking our chin which gives all people of all sizes a double chin. Reeally not flattering!

#3 Smile with your eyes.
It just makes you look pleasant and approachable.

#4 Relax your eye brows,
It is just another auto response when we see a camera pointed our way... the brows go up. Tell them to stay put.

#5 While you are at it, relax those shoulders.
Having your shoulders up in your ears isn't a good look for you.

#6 Keep your head straight
We tend to tilt to one side. While it may feel right it doesn't look so good.

#7 Give a half smile
You may be feel inclined to give your biggest happy, happy, happy smile ever but don't. Bring it down a few notches so your eyes won't squint too much. Also, a huge smile tends to be gummy.

Ok. Now practice the above tips and tricks and take another selfie. Go!

Now compare the two selfies.

Do you see a difference?

Send those two selfies to [email protected] and I will add your name to a drawing for a complimentary*, thirty minute mini session.

Happy snapping,
Melissa M. Harden
